Christmas Reflection

We like to evaluate things don’t we? You check in at the doctor’s office and they may ask you to evaluate your pain. How hard is THAT?!? They even put faces by the numbers to help us.

In other things, we measure reality and compare it  to our expectations. Christmas is no different. People will ask you, maybe in the form of polite small talk, but the question will come. . .

How was your Christmas?

On Christmas Eve, we served nearly 1,100 people and our desire was to help each one have their best Christmas ever and I heard from many people that their lives were touched in a way that DID happen!

Some will measure their Christmas by the gifts received (or maybe given) while others will decide based on who was or wasn’t present.

It’s my prayer that your answer may be, “I had the BEST Christmas ever because I came to a greater awareness than ever before of the reality that God became a man so that I could become a child of God!”

With that awareness, we no longer have to keep the “Christmas spirit” alive beyond December because THAT gives us meaning and purpose to every day of our lives for the rest of our lives!

THAT is what I believe is what makes a MERRY CHRISTMAS!
