Promotions & Responsibilities

Excited to Announce Two Promotions!

It excites me to announce two promotions of existing staff members!
Justin McPeak has worn multiple hats during his 10+ years on staff with us starting at Student Ministry Director and most recently the Executive Pastor including a few in between. My purpose in doing this has to give him a variety of experiences in church leadership.
For those who know Justin KNOW that the greatest talent he possesses is as a communicator! Therefore, Justin’s new title will be Teaching Pastor!
We have been working on the transition for a couple of years now. Justin has taught the Easter Message for the last three years. Last year he actually taught more weekends than me for the first time and that will be the regular occurrence from here on out.
Justin will not only continue to be the majority teacher but he will also assume responsibility for our new “Equipped” classes starting this Fall as well as managing the Teaching Team and the content being presented in all aspects of our ministry.
Tessa Galindo began six years ago as the Assistant to the Lead Pastor. Her responsibilities have been to manage my schedule, my email, and my projects. She has excelled in understanding our church culture and possesses an ability to see the “big picture” in fine detail. She has shown an ability to step into multiple ministries, with a spirit of humility and create alignment with our standards and values.
As a member of the Teaching Team, she not only brought organization and focus, but a consistent voice of “Where is the Good News of Jesus being expressed in this message?”
Therefore, Tessa is being promoted to Executive Director of Operations where she will be tasked with overseeing all ministry operations to ensure our culture and standards are lived out across all ministries.
I will remain Lead Pastor but my responsibilities will shift more towards leadership development and community relations. I will still be the “face” of TMC to the community and I will continue to mentor the staff and be the staff member who is the liaison between staff and elders.
My heart has been to create an environment where young pastors can cut their teeth on ministry in a healthy environment where they are safe and well-loved. I figure that if I don’t get in their way, there will continue to be a place for me and I don’t plan to retire before I’m 70 which is still nine years away.
Even after nearly 33 years, I love what I do and who I get to work with and my passion is greater than ever! For most pastors, signs that it’s time to retire are a weakening in those areas and I’m just not there . . . not even close!
We have the best relationships between staff and elders than I have seen anywhere else and the best days of our church are still ahead and I’m excited to be part of it as long as the Lord will allow!
