New Year
The Christmas season is so special and we can thank God because it was His wisdom and loving kindness that created days and weeks, seasons and years! Otherwise, life would be just ONE. LONG. DAY!
As we sit on the doorstep of a new year, have you thought yet about what you want to be able to look back upon one year from now? Rather than just “wait and see” what comes, why not invite God (with His infinite wisdom and love) to help you plan to grow?
Every year, staff and elders complete their own “Personal Growth Plans” and I share them with you with the hope that you will aim a little higher, think further, and celebrate more!
Are you willing to pray: “God, the next 365 days will be a gift from you! Please help me become the person I need to be in order to accomplish your will for my life!”
Why bother? Because people are depending upon you and growth seldom happens by accident.
Want to see how easy it can be?
Ask God to reveal something He would like to do in your life in these six areas:
1. Faith
2. Family
3. Fitness
4. Finances
5. Friendship
6. Fun
How you write your goals can increase their effectiveness.
Write down your goals in a SMART way!
· Specific (be clear on what you want to accomplish)
· Measurable (how will you KNOW you did it?)
· Attainable (something you believe is possible)
· Relevant (something that matters whether you do it or not)
· Time-bound (“I will do THIS by WHEN!”)
Something else that’s fun to do is select your “word” for the year.
What is Your ONE WORD?
Seek God for one word that can become the frame for your life in the upcoming year? What ONE WORD might make the biggest difference for your life? Choose one word to focus on for the entire year.
May every life we touch (this year) come to know, love, and serve Jesus!
I believe that when we grow, every touch is a better touch because of our investment of this time. I hope you join us and have something you enjoy looking back upon a year from now.
Blessings and Happy New Year!
