Fourth Worship Gathering
FOURTH WORSHIP GATHERING DISCONTINUED AFTER DECEMBER 22
Back in August, in an attempt to create space in our overcrowded Sunday morning gatherings and to try to reach people that we weren’t already reaching, we decided to try 4:00pm for a fourth worship gathering.
To achieve this goal, it was essential that we be able to offer a full Children’s Ministry. When it became apparent that we cannot offer Children’s Ministry at the 4pm gathering, the decision had to be made that after December 22, the fourth worship service will be discontinued.
Some have said that they would come if we offered “live” teaching. It was my personal decision that the teaching would be video for the sake of the well-being of the teaching team.
As Lead Pastor, I am responsible for the entire church and while the staff and volunteers LOVE to serve, I must in good conscience be able to tell them that their efforts are essential in accomplishing our mission.
It was our expectation that the people reached by the extra worship gathering would offset the additional demands, and I determined that without Children’s Ministry, I could not continue to ask our Guest Services (hosting, kitchen, baking, and communion teams) or Worship Arts Ministry Teams to continue carrying the extra responsibilities that the fourth gathering was requiring.
THANK YOU to everyone who served faithfully at this gathering and who moved from your preferred morning times to help this new service get established!
While we didn‘t achieve the outcome we had hoped for, we will never stop trying new things in order to find new ways to reach out, touch lives, and grow people to know, love, and serve Jesus!
