Project Serve - This Weekend

Worship Services Cancelled This Weekend for Project Serve

We gather for worship three times every Sunday and when we leave the building, we are actually scattering to serve BUT on Labor Day weekend, something special happens when our “worship service” is outside of the building!

This Sunday, September 5th, we will cancel our regular worship gatherings in order to go serve our nearby community of Golden Acres. We will meet at the church at 7:30am in order to set out for the service projects by 8am and return for lunch and fellowship together at TMC by 12pm.

WHY?

  1. If we want our neighbors to come to know, love, and serve Jesus, we MUST reach out and touch their lives in a meaningful way and our service allows us to do that!
  2. Canceling our worship gatherings is a way to “put our money where our mouth is” and to show the priority of DOING our faith.
  3. In the 21st century, I think service is the best way to proclaim our faith to people who haven’t yet put their faith in Jesus!

SO . . . whether you are serving outside on a project team or inside working in the kitchen or doing childcare, PLEASE sign up. The more people we can get signed up ahead of time, the smoother that Sunday will run when everyone shows up to get to work!
Each year, our church receives an outpouring of appreciation from the people we serve and because we are a church, Jesus gets the glory! I hope you will be able to share in creating the joy on earth and in heaven by our “worship serving!”

Project Serve Hats Available

100 hats in two different styles will be available in the lobby this weekend. We are offering them slightly below our cost at $20 and giving a $5 discount this weekend to anyone participating in Project Serve.

Attendance Updates

We are a month into having three worship gatherings and with five Sunday's worth of data, here is how the attendance percentages have been split among the three services:

8:00am - 23%
9:30am - 51%
11:00am - 26%

We are offering children’s ministry opportunities at all gatherings (up through 5th grade) and it would really help to even things out a bit more as well as increase our capacity to reach more people if you considered coming to either the 8:00am or 11:00am gathering.
