Jeff Brundidge's Resignation Letter

March 10th, 2022

Dear Pastor Youngblood,

This letter is meant to serve as an official notice of my resignation as Next Generation Pastor of Thunder Mountain Church, effective July 1st, 2022. This decision has been very difficult, though I do believe this is the best decision for myself and my family.

I do believe it is time for me to leave Sierra Vista. Although I care for both the kids and student ministry, I desire to give more of my attention to students and young adults in another ministry. I feel this will better suit my gifts and passion. This alone would not be enough to leave. I want to prioritize Anastasia’s career. Already having her associates degree and clearly being called to nursing, she is ready to work towards her BSN. In Sierra Vista, her only option is to pursue her RN. For these reasons, I do believe leaving is the best decision for myself and my family.

Leaving Thunder Mountain Church has not been an easy decision for me to make. Here in Sierra Vista, I have enjoyed mountain biking and rock climbing in the beautiful Sierra Vista mountains; I have gained pastoral and leadership skills I will use for the rest of my life; I have had the privilege of sharing my life and the gospel with kids and students alongside lifelong brothers and sisters in Christ; And I have met and married my beautiful lifelong ministry partner. Thunder Mountain Church and Sierra Vista will always be a huge part of my story.

I am committed to leaving well and setting the kids and student ministry up for success. It is my prayer that I can leave it better than it was before and is now. I am very thankful to have served alongside so many amazing people here at Thunder Mountain Church. Randy, thank you for who you are and how you have led me so humbly.

Sincerely,

Jeff Brundidge
Jeff has had a great impact on our church in the time he has been here and we are all better for it. As newlyweds, this is their  first real  “adult” decision and I want to support them and  help them navigate this successfully. His desire is to see through The Story Bible series and celebrate those students who complete it.
The staff is praying and working on how to best compensate for his absence and we will communicate more with you in the weeks ahead but for now, let’s focus on celebrating the gift that Jeff and Anastasia were and give them a good send off between now and the end of May.
