Get Connected!

We have two opportunities for you to get connected! Whether you have been at the church a long time or just joining us, we want to help you get connected!

Engage on Sunday, January 23

People usually come to a new church with expectations shaped by their previous churches. Since my definition of conflict is “unmet expectations” and because most people’s time here is fairly short, it is important that people know what they can expect while attending TMC. Another reason is that one of the biggest challenges of leadership is to align people, coming with a variety of expectations, into a cohesive, effective team.

Engage is an important part of the life of our church as the next step for people to become Ministry Partners because it shapes expectations and brings cohesion in the most efficient way possible.

Another function of Engage is that by signifying agreement in these core areas through formal Ministry Partnership, we are able to entrust people whom we haven’t known very long, with higher levels of leadership and still fulfill our responsibility to protect the flock that is under our care.

So, if you haven’t been before, please RSVP to join us on Sunday, January 23, from 12:30-2:00 pm to see what we are about, and if you’d like to be part of becoming the church God is calling us to be!

Group Link on Wednesday, January 26

GroupLink is the best opportunity to get involved with a small group because it lets you choose what group you want to join rather than leaving that responsibility to us. People who are currently “in" a group are encouraged to come too because your presence is helpful in this process!

All of TMC's small group leaders will be there and the entire event is designed to break the ice by allowing you to meet them as well as other people who are looking to join a group this Spring.

Groups work best when they form organically like this and we will offer you the opportunity in an evening that always proves to be very fun!

The Spring season of GroupLink will take place at TMC on January 26th from 5:30 - 7:00pm with dinner and childcare provided.

Search Me!

Have you established your time and place with God and begun to pray “dangerous prayers”?

When I have prayed “search me” this week I gained a sense of humility before God in a way that I had to lay my presuppositions down about what God thinks or what I should do.

One of my “favorite” scriptures is, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”         1 Peter 5:5b (ESV).

“Favorite” is in quotation marks because I know what’s good for me is sometimes hard but I put that word in the quotation marks because I KNOW some of God’s greatest blessings come through that verse!

I reasoned many years ago that I would rather be someone God could bless and not someone God has to oppose. That’s why I believe blessings await us on the other side of that prayer!
