Know, Love, and SERVE

It is our mission to reach out, touch lives, and grow people to know, love and SERVE Jesus…and I want to highlight a couple of ways that our church was recently blessed to serve our community and then share with you two other opportunities for you to serve within and outside of our four walls.

OUTREACH PROJECTS TEAM

The Sheriff's Department Care Team reached out to us to gain our help with a massive clean-up project. We had over 25 people show up to help!  The county provided two 40 yard roll-off containers and we filled them both to the max!  Will Silva and Mark Goodman brought their tractors to bear. We could never have taken this on without their equipment and operating skills. And without those two containers from the county, this would have been all but impossible.

PROJECT GRADUATION AT BUENA HIGH SCHOOL

Project Graduation was a big success (as always) and we were blessed to be part of it! Joe Farmer served again as Co-Director and Mike Lewis set up our booth and stayed all night to supervise us. In addition Justin McPeak, Kristal Bartelds, Genevieve Falcon, Deborah Bordeaux, Katie Walker and myself opened the night with the 9:30pm-1:00am shift followed by Kim Youngblood, Ramona Baker, Jamie Taylor, and Elaine Lumberry taking the “night” shift of 12:30am-4:00am. It was a delightful evening serving together and interacting with the kids!

Richard Falcon served the same night at Tombstone High School! Thank you, everyone, for the ways you gave of yourself to be a blessing to others!
PROJECT SERVE IS COMING!

Planning is underway for this year’s Project Serve which will occur on Sunday, August 31st in place of normal service gatherings. Sign-ups will begin at church on July 27th (continuing through August 17) which is crucial for us to be able to organize everyone on teams before the day of the event. This is a special day where we go out and serve with various yardwork projects for our neighbors as well as other projects for community partners. Mark your calendars!
URGENT CHILDREN’S MINISTRY’S NEED

We have more people attending our church than ever before and we are also having to close classrooms more than ever before. To me that means we are not giving a clear path to ministry for those whom God is calling to serve Him.

This last Sunday was extra painful, not only did we have to close the 4th-6th grade classroom for BOTH services, but Kim had a co-worker WHO CAME TO TMC FOR THE FIRST TIME and we regretfully had to say “not today” when she wanted to sign her daughter into our Children’s Ministry.

We talk about coming to know, love, and serve Jesus and ALL THREE ARE ESSENTIAL! Somewhere, someone is missing out on a tremendous blessing of being a blessing! Not only with kids enjoying to come to know, love, and serve Jesus but also to their families, whom God is drawing to Himself through us.
