DO YOU HAVE A GROWTH PLAN?
Are you willing to pray: “God, the next 365 days will be a gift from you! Please help me become the person I need to be in order to accomplish your will for my life!”
People are depending upon you! Growth seldom happens by accident.
What do you think God wants to see happen in your life in these six areas?
1. Faith (Calling, Church, Kingdom)
2. Family
3. Finances
4. Friendship
5. Fitness (Spiritual, Intellectual, Physical)
6. Fun
Goals are a two-edged sword because there is a feeling of accomplishment when they are fulfilled and there can be a feeling of failure when they aren’t. Those who focus on the feeling of failure often tend to set goals of little consequence because of the pain associated with it. May I suggest that the mere act of setting goals - some you will reach and some you won’t - will result in significant personal growth through accomplishing more than you otherwise would have achieved had you not reached for anything beyond the ordinary.
For example, on one hand, I fell short of this year’s goal of reading the Bible through in a year, but on the other hand, I only missed it by eight days. How much would I have read without the daily goals supplied by the plan? Maybe I would have actually achieved it as I have maybe a dozen times in the past but my time with God was really enhanced by taking it at a slower pace this time.
What we focus on will always be our choice but there will always be something to celebrate if we are willing to set some goals a little beyond our ordinary reach.
Don’t wait for your circumstances to improve, make the most of your circumstances by seeing each day as a gift from God and letting Him direct your steps.
