One of the more popular health and diet fads out there is fasting. Or more specifically known as intermittent fasting. All kinds of podcasts and books highlight the numerous health benefits, and yet fasting is an ancient practice that not only brings benefit to our physical bodies but releases power for spiritual breakthrough in our lives as well. The church in the first century AD practiced a fasting habit Wednesdays and Fridays from sun up to 3pm for all followers of Jesus that could participate. And it was the first century church that God worked through to turn the world upside down! Perhaps as we've lost this spiritual habit in church communities, we lost some of that untapped spiritual power available to us. In this message, we'll unpack the ancient practice of fasting and how to get started.
