How to Prepare for the Global Leadership Summit

Posted by Randy Youngblood, Lead Pastor on

Other than my own bible study and prayer, there is nothing that God has used more than the GLS to speak into my life, the life of this church, and to transform my leadership!  That’s why this event is a non-negotiable part of my annual calendar, and why I invite everyone to attend!

If you haven’t registered, it’s not too late! Click here to register!

GLS 2017

Event Times: 8:30a - 4:30p (Guest Check-In: 7:30a - 8:30a)
Village Meadows Baptist Church

Cost: $119 (with rate code PHS17TEAM)
Cost for active military: $89 (with rate code "Military")
Cost for faculty/students: $89 (make sure to check the box!)

If you are planning to attend, I wanted to share the preparations I make in order to gain the most benefit.

  1. Print!  Check the confirmation email sent to your inbox after you registered in order to download and print your personal admission ticket.
  2. Pray!  Pray that nothing keeps you or others from attending.  Pray for sensitivity to the next steps God has for you!
  3. Download! GLS17, as well as, GLSnext are two helpful apps made for the Summit.
  4. Prepare!  How will you write down what God speaks to you?  I use my iPad with a wireless keyboard.
  5. Expect!  I always expect great insights from unexpected sources!  I see it as listening for the “quiet whisper” of God that is heard when I am humble and willing to learn from those who don’t have the “name” or the following of some of the other speakers.
  6. Tweet!  Engage through Twitter. Share your insights with others and search to learn how God has spoken to other attendees. I will use #GLS17 and #(last name of speaker).  In the past, I have also been able to find complete sets of notes so I only need to write down a few things specifically for me.
  7. Debrief! Plan to debrief with another attendee. Kim and I will debrief each evening by asking one another “What stood out to you?” I will do the same with staff and the elders.
  8. Act!  My process starts with notes.  I process my notes into a list of “Take Aways”, which I boil down to a “Top-Action List".  This is essential for me to move beyond good intentions to great results!

Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
John 13:17 (NIV)
