Engage 101 & Christmas Eve!

Posted by Randy Youngblood, Lead Pastor on

Ready for Engage 101?!

Why did engage! go away? Bottom line: it stopped being effective.  There was too much information being presented at one time, and new Ministry Partners weren’t being assimilated into the life and ministry of TMCC as well as we had desired.

What’s different now?

Now Engage will have two phases:  Engage 101 and 102.

Engage 101 will be information designed to help people whose desire is to decide whether or not to make TMCC their church.

Engage 102 will be a six-week small group experience that will examine the five strategies we employ: gather, grow, give, serve, share.  This is a strategic decision by the elders being implemented by the staff to help transform our culture into being a “church of small groups”. We realize we can’t adequately care for people who choose not to engage in community through small groups (connect Groups and/or ministry teams).

It will also be a better way to help people begin implementing the five strategies into their lives, rather than the way it’s been in the past. In the past, it felt like we were just telling people the strategies and then sending them off with a “Good luck!”

Children are welcome, and lunch will be provided! Engage 101 will be at TMCC once a month on Sundays from 12:30 to 2:00 pm. The first two classes are December 3 and January 7. To RSVP, drop by Connection Point in the lobby or check out the events page on our website, by clicking here.

New Message Series: Love Came Down

Ever wonder why we have Christmas?  Imagine God . . . sitting up there in heaven, looking down on earth . . . seeing the corruption, abuse . . . the powerful taking advantage of the weak.

How would you respond if you were Him?  . . . instead of striking us with a lightning bolt out of anger, He leaves heaven and comes down to earth and pours out His love!

THAT’S the God you will experience with us this Christmas season!

This weekend Jared will be introducing a new song, it happens to be a recent favorite of mine. Check it out here

Christmas Weekend Gathering Times

Because Christmas Day is on Monday, all 4 gatherings on Sunday  will be devoted to our usual Christmas Eve Experiences.  All components of the four gatherings will be the same.  Mark your calendar for the time that works best!

Saturday, December 23: None
Sunday, December 24: 9:00 am, 10:30 am, 3:00 pm, 4:30pm

Whenever Christmas Eve falls during the week, we offer gathering times on the 23rd for those who would be traveling the next day.  However, this year, with the date falling on a Saturday, I figured people would already be gone traveling. On behalf of those who would be serving, I also felt a choice had to be made between the evening of the 23rd or the evening of the 24th and I opted for extra gatherings on Christmas Eve, the 24th.

There will be no Christmas Day services.

Christmas Offering Details

This will be a 2-part offering, with both local and international components once again!

Often choices made out of fear are choices we regret later, sometimes for the rest of our lives. Our Christmas offering will go toward Care Net's vision to reach more women and couples in crisis who are feeling alone and afraid by offering hope, alternative options to abortion, and Christ's loving support. Your gifts will specifically help women to step out of the darkness into the light and discover the love and grace of God who will never leave them or forsake them in their time of need!

100% of your gifts will go to our local Strategic Partner to provide support for those experiencing a crisis pregnancy. In addition to that your gift will be doubled (up to $5,000) so that we can provide financial support to our International Strategic Partner in the Philippines for their upcoming special needs/projects. Through your gifts, love will come down both here and in the Philippines!

You can give online here, drop an envelope in the box at the back of the auditorium on the weekend, or use Text-to-Give by clicking here. Just please make sure to designate "Christmas or special offering".

Thank you for your generosity!
