2018 Staff Changes

Posted by Randy Youngblood, Lead Pastor on

Jesus replied, “. . . I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. Matthew 16:17a-18b (NLT)

God has done a marvelous job of building Thunder Mountain Community Church and making sure we have everything we need each step of the way!

Jared, our Creative Arts Director, was someone who came as an answer to over a year of praying and he is perfect for us!

We are so grateful that God sent Laurel Strasshofer and Martha Schafer for the season they have been here. They are now answering the call to move on. We honor them, thank God for the gifts they have been, and trust in God to provide for our next season of life as a church.

You may read their letters below.

Laurel’s blessing went far beyond her “job description”. Her personal ministry in Guest Services helped carry TMCC through a difficult season!  We will make a few staff changes after Laurel moves on. Justin McPeak will step into the role of Executive Pastor and Kristal Barteld's, our staff Accountant, responsibilities will expand as well.

In the meantime, the restructuring that Laurel, Justin, and I are pursuing will involve what we are calling a Next Gen Ministries Pastor, who will oversee both Children and Student Ministry Teams. His responsibility will be to prepare the next generation to lead the church!

We will also more aggressively pursue someone to fill the Connections Pastor role, which will include some of the responsibilities Justin has now.  Both people will become part of the Teaching Team.  I always want to find young men to develop as communicators.  I don’t mind teaching 40 times a year like in 2017, but I don’t think that is in the best long-term interest of our church or the Body of Christ.

We are also looking to fill the role of Office Administrator. If you are interested in pursuing either of these positions, please visit our Careers page on our website here for more information.

I am excited about the staff we have!  I believe 2018 will be the best year yet for TMCC and I can’t wait to get started!
