Randy Youngblood, Sr. Pastor
Randy and Kim came in 1989 to help start TMCC. Several families had gotten together to start a church that could reach this generation for Christ and not be limited in the number of people who could attend. Randy and Kim, who had grown up in Christian homes, wanted to attempt something that would fail if God wasn’t in it. After some initial enthusiasm TMCC was down to three families and still unable to find a pastor, the offer to start that kind of church and go “until the money runs out” was just that kind of opportunity they were looking for even if some friends thought they were crazy!
Randy was just completing a Master’s Degree in church growth and ten years later, the results didn’t match expectations (“attendance of 1,000 by the year 2000″). Thinking that he was looking “for something he was good at,” Randy thought he found it in coaching softball and teaching algebra in the local public high school but instead God would used that experience to transform Randy’s life and ministry. God opened the door for Randy to return to TMCC and this time not to grow a church but to grow people and seeing salvation not just as something that occurs when we die but a blessing to live daily as citizens in the Kingdom of God!
Randy returned in a part-time role (while still teaching algebra) in late Fall of 2005 and became full-time again a year later. The dream to build had appeared dead but miraculously came back to life in 2007. Lives are being changed and attendance is booming while efforts are being poured into increasing our capacity to grow people!
A 1990 graduate Cincinnati Christian Seminary (M.A. Practical Theology) and 1984 graduate of Nebraska Christian College (B.A. Pastoral Ministry) as well as Grinnell (IA) High School in 1979. He previously served for 5½ year as Associate Minister of the Missouri Valley Christian Church. (1984-1989) where he also coached AYSO soccer, freshman boys and girls basketball and started a Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He and Kim were married in 1984.
Philip Engle, Associate Pastor of Student Discipleship
Philip grew up in TMCC, having attended since the age of three. His ministry began in 2006 when he mentored a group of boys over his Summer break from college. In 2007, he served as TMCC’s first Summer Intern before coming onboard full-time in 2008 following graduation.
Philip was hired because of his passion for the Word of God and the results have been a youth ministry of kids and adult leaders who have caught that passion for serving God and making an eternal difference in the lives they touch! We have been blessed to watch him grow and develop right before our eyes as a gifted, passionate teacher!
Philip earned a Master of Education from the University of Arizona South in 2010, a B.A. in Bible from Clearwater Christian College in 2008. He is a 2004 graduate of Buena High School. Philip married the former Angela Plumb of Sierra Vista on December 20, 2008.
Charity Rossman, Administrative Assistant
Charity and her family came to TMCC in April of 2007. She began serving with TMCC in a part-time role in February 2009 and moved to full-time by the end of the year. Every person who comes into contact with the church office experiences her warmth and genuine love for people. She is a tireless servant with a passion for Christ who works hard to help Randy and the rest of the staff use their time efficiently in advancing the Kingdom of God. In 2009 she began leading the Middle School Girls Life Group and God has blessed her ministry with much fruit in a short time!
Charity was homeschooled and completed high school in 2006 and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Office and Administrative Professions, Administrative Assistants from Pima Community College in 2008, while playing volleyball there two years. She plans to resume working on her bachelor’s degree in the Fall of 2010.
Lindsey Hanson, Children’s Ministry Director
Lindsey and her husband Andrew were brought to Sierra Vista by the Army and learned of TMCC through Lindsey’s ministry with MOPS (Mother’s of Preschoolers). She came eager to teach Sunday School and parents began to rave about her, her teaching, and the notes she would write each week to each child in her class. Lindsey was hired part-time in 2009 but she serves nearly full-time hours because of her love for Jesus and her passion for children to know, love, and serve Him!
Lindsey graduated with an Associate Arts degree in Communications from Daytona State College (FL) in 2007, following her high school graduation from Warner Christian Academy in Daytona Beach, FL in 2005. She is working on her B.A. in Elementary Education through Liberty University and expects to finish in 2011.
Adam DeCuir, Associate Pastor of Worship Arts
Adam and his wife Jessica have attended TMCC since October 2007 and Adam was one of our volunteer worship leaders since March 2008. When the demands of TMCC’s growth required the position be full-time, it was Adam’s passion for worship and understanding of music that prompted us to ask if he ever thought about “doing this full-time?” His response was an immediate “yes!”
Staff experience prior to TMCC was with Grace Bible Church in Sebring, Florida, which grew from 15 to around 1,300 in attendance while they were there! Adam served the church “part-time” (LOL!) as Assistant Worship Leader (Co-lead the music at four services every weekend), Youth Worship Leader, College Group Worship Leader and Small Group Leader (hosted a 20’s group). After a year of working for both Youth for Christ and GBC part-time, the church was talking about making the Middle School ministry separate from the High School ministry and asked Adam to run it, but at that point Jess and He really knew that the Lord was moving them on. Adam says “It was like a huge spiritual spotlight suddenly moved from Sebring Florida, back to Sierra Vista for us.”
Adam graduated from Buena High School in 2002 and, in December 2005, married Jessica Dailey from Sebring, Florida, whom he met online through a website group dedicated to Christian artists (on xanga.com). They knew they were destined to make music together and have since formed the music group “Ananias”, which has recently won Gospel Music Channel’s national 2009 Indie Spotlight Contest!
